WHO WE ARE

The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a lay Catholic organization founded in 1833 and established in Canada in 1846. Our mission is to live the Gospel message by serving Christ in those who are poor, with love, respect, justice, and joy.

Rooted in Vincentian spirituality, we believe in:

  • Charity – responding with compassion
  • Humility – serving without judgment
  • Personal Encounter – meeting people where they are

SSVP works locally through Parish Conferences, supported by Diocesan/District Councils, the National Council of Canada, and the International Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

WHAT WE DO

We provide person-to-person service to individuals and families experiencing hardship in our parish and community.

Our support may include:

  • Food assistance
  • Help with basic needs
  • Clothing or household items
  • Seasonal support
  • Referrals to community services

All assistance is offered with confidentiality, dignity, and respect. We often work in partnership with parish ministries and community organizations.
