Become a Volunteer

Please note that expressing interest does not guarantee placement in a volunteer role. All applicants are required to go through a screening process, and opportunities are offered based on the needs of the parish and volunteer availability.

 

Preparing You to Serve:

All volunteers are required to complete the mandatory Archdiocese Volunteer Orientation and Training, and any training required by their Parish and Ministry prior to beginning a volunteer role and becoming active in ministry, as this ensures they are effectively prepared to be of service to God, the Church, their Parish, Ministry, and Community. Volunteers are required to:

  • Review the Archdiocese Volunteer Guidelines and Code of Conduct
  • Complete Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) training
  • Complete Ontario Human Rights Commission training (OHRC)
  • Complete Parish and Ministry-specific training through the Pastor, Ministry Leaders or Catholic Pastoral Centre
